best 5.0 OS to download?
Please Login to Remove!
Which one should I go with? (and a link please!) I've been reading up, and have noticed that the Beta may be a better option than the Production version?
Thanks!

If you want guaranteed reliabilty, go for the official os.
If you want to experiment, try the beta one. Remember to backup your device before.

Currently the only official OS 5.0 released is version 5.0.0.411 which is stickied at the top of this forum.
Latest beta OS 5.0 leaked is version 5.0.0.464

SMS bugs would be an issue for me, as my primary use is SMS and BBM. What are the wifi and screen lock bugs with 464?
Sorry for all the questions -- just looking to get all the details

See: http://www.blackberryforums.com/beta...64-leaked.html
Screen Lock: Holding the "A" puts the phone in standby instead of locking, to password lock you must use Alt+Enter
Wifi: People are having issues with automatically connecting to wifi, must enable single profile scanning to get it working right.

I just use the left convenience key as my keyboard lock -- will I be OK in that regard? I dont use a password (nor did I know about "A" shortcut or Alt+Enter for keyboard lock...I must have not been paying attention).
As for wifi -- I don't typically use it, since I'm either by my work computer, or by my personal computer...
Go for .464???

I don't see why not...its a pretty stable build with only the bugs that I mentioned. Memory is good and so is battery life.

I was reading a little further in that link you provided, and noticed that someone mentioned that even using a convenience key for keyboard loack requires a password. Is this true? i lock my keyboard for pocket-dial issues, definitely not security issues...
Thanks!

So you are saying you use standby mode to lock the keyboard, and not a password lock? If that's the case, you should be fine.

i did not see any bugs on 411. except the camera buttons which is not a big deal for me because all the button options are there when you press the menu button

Raptor, I don't use standby mode, I use the Keyboard Lock "app" (for lack of a better term) to lock my keyboard. Will this still work (without a password) if I set it to the side convenience key?
Just in case it doesn't -- Can you help me find 4.6 downgrade isntructions please? Thanks!

if i were u, id stick with the official OS .411. Im reading that many many people are having all sorts of problems with the latest beta. I only have a slight bluetooth issue but aside form that, the OS is flawless. I have never had any problems with any OSs any of these people have ever mentioned. and im on the phone aaaaaall day and use three batteries a day and have 21 apps installed so i honestly don't understand how people can have problems with their phones. Regardless however, u may be one of those people that may have problems so id stick with an official release cause worst case scenario, u can always get assistance from rims official forum but not for the betas.

With 5.0.0.411 if you briefly press 'k' the unit locks. Is that not the case with .464? Unlike holding down 'a' you just hit the 'k' to lock. I am at .411 and it does lock using 'k'. Would like to find out the results on .464
Can you test the 'k' shortcut and see what it does?

Despite some earlier reservations, I'm having great luck with the leaked .464. Before that I really liked the Swedish .411.
