Default How to Delete an Unused Icon

Please Login to Remove!

I struggled with this one for awhile. I finally found a fix for those pesky icons that remain on your screen even if you've deleted the application(s). On your main screen, go to options - advanced options - service book. Highlight the unwanted application, and delete. It's that easy. Well, it did take several tries until I got all of them removed, but there were quite a few.

Yup, and as soon as your restart the BB, or do a Battery Pull, it will show right back up. It's best to just hide it.

Well, maybe it depends on the actual app, but all the icons I wanted to get rid of are gone. It's worth a shot IMHO.

They will come back the next time your carrier pushes them. When that occurs, simply hide them and forget about them.

Wirelessly posted (The Dacia Sandero of data plan)

There might also be a module left over that wasn't completely removed. I ran into this problem the first time I installed Google Talk to my phone. Ended up having to find the 2 modules associated with the program. Deleting them was the only way to delete the icon.

Well, it's been 3 days and the icons have not returned. I'm on a BES, maybe that's the reason. So far the fix has worked.

A hard reboot (battery pull) will bring them back. Count on it. I put mine in a folder and hide the folder.
