Default BIS and sync question from complete newbie [sorry!]

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everyone,

I am sorry to be posting such a newbie question...

I am about to order a Bold 9700 from Vodafone UK.

I currently use a nokia e71 and it synchronizes absolutely everything with my Outlook Exchange server (inc calendar, tasks, sent items etc).

I don't have BES so will need to use BIS. What is concerning me is it seems to be slightly tricky to fully synchronize (without having to connect the phone to my laptop) my calendar, tasks (and sent items for my non-exchange email accounts).

Is there an easy solution for this? It is the one thing which is just holding me back from going ahead with this purchase. I know the Blackberry will be much better at handling my multiple email accounts in one inbox, compared to the E71, but I also need to be sure that me appointments, contacts and tasks are being fully synced, otherwise I don't see how this phone will be able to fully meet my needs...

I am sure I am not alone in this and am confident there must be people who know the solution!! I did have had a hunt around the forum but didn't find the answer.

Many thanks in advance for your kind help.

Nick

No, BIs doesn't sync those things.
You have to hook up to a pc or laptop, and sync manually.

You will need to use Desktop Manager which comes with the BB to sync calendar. contacts, notes and memos between your BB and your PC, using a USB cable which should also be included.

Read the user guide that will come with the BB, read our FAQ and then use the SEARCH function. Ask questions if you can't find an answer.
