I just installed 5.0.0.411 on my AT&T bold 9000, before updated (using 4.6) I only had to use one web browser if I had wifi on it would use wifi if I didn't it would use my data connection, now my phone tells me I have to use one browser when on wifi (hotspot browser) and the other when I am not(WAP browser/Media Net Browser). Is there a setting I don't know about that let's my work like it used to, using the same browser on wifi or on my data connection? Thanks for you help.

You can either: 1) login to your carrier's BIS/BB page where there's usually an option to resend service books; or 2) with the device powered on, pull out the battery for at least 15sec before putting it back in.

hmm, it should have done.
try options - advanced - host routing table
menu - register now
that may work.

I tried registering the host routing table no luck, I tried reloading the OS no luck. I just cannot figure out why I only have the hotspot browser which requires wifi and the wap browser
which won't work on wifi, I used have one called internet browser that would work either with wifi or on my data connection. I am about ready to give up and just switch browsers when I have to.

internet browser appears because of service books, hence the service book resending and HRT.
did you try a battery pull also?

Yep, one of the HRTs is bold, I assume that is the one to register ? It said it sent but it stayed bold even after battery pull.

it doesnt matter which entry you are highlighted on when pressing register now.
it does register the entry, but the entire table.

Does it have gprs, GPRS or edge, EDGE or 3g, 3G with dots, in the top nright hand corner of the main screen?

ok so you have data connection.
so you should have correct service books.

hmm, is it documented somewhere people having problems with this Os 5 version in regards to browser?

Yes, there's an issue documented. For some reason, AT&T seems to be whacking the "Internet Browser" on 5.0. There's a fix that works, but it's a PITA to have to run every three days, which is how long it seems to take for the service book to be reset.

I've been poking around. I tried getting a "good" service book backup that would be for my own personal use, but the one I made while things were still good didn't seem to be able to replace the linked one.

<soapbox>I wish AT&T would worry more about network reliability, stability, and availability, and less about pushing crapware shortcuts, limiting my device's functionality, and pushing down empty service books to hide readily available software (BB Maps) in favor of more expensive things that AT&T gets a cut of.</soapbox>
