Default Storm 2 fingerprints

Please Login to Remove!

I've been looking at the Storm 2, and one thing that turns me off is it seems to be a total fingerprint magnet (unlike the Droid which, when I had mine, didn't seem too bad). What do you Storm owners do about the fingerprints?

Im not an owner but I have a bit of experience with that and a screen protector is actually very helpful in that subject (rather than to protect from scratches, where the crystal screen avoids all that)... so I recommend to apply some screen protector

The finger prints are not that noticeable to me.

Every morning I put a very small amount of water one one fingertip. I rub it on the screen and then wipe off with a towel. Works perfectly.

BTW I had the Droid for three days and exchanged it for my Storm 2. Not one ounce of regret.

I wrote up a review of my Droid experiences here:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/hand...ml#post1521565

I'm back to my 8130 Pearl for now, trying to decide what to get. I like the new Curve, and the Storm seems ok although not as slick/smooth as the Droid.

I use my Oakley sunglasses bag to wipe the screen regularly.
It makes it look great, and is always in my pocket.
And, I agree that the screen protectors seem to make the prints less noticeable.

Well with my OCD, I am cleaning the screen a dozen times a day. Really the only time you can see the finger prints is when the screen goes black, but I know that they are still there....again the OCD kicks in and well.......LOL

Has anyone tried these Steinhall anti-fingerprint screen protectors?

No doubt the Storm2 is a fingerprint and grease magnet. It's worse than the iPhone. But it doesn't stop me from loving this baby. Best phone I ever owned. I am a total convert.

AMEN to that brother - I LOVE this phone! Fingerprints are bad enough, but those cheek marks after a pnone call are disgusting! I use my eyeglass cleaner and a tissue and it works great...until the next touch. My friend has an iPod and he is always borrowing my spray...the price we pay for a BIG screen!

I'm in NC for the holidays and everybody down here loves my phone. Because of how pathetic AT&T is there are few iPhones around these parts, so almost no one has seen a touch screen like this.

However, I have gotten some comments on the fingerprint problem. Some think it's kind of gross. Whatever. They can stick with their old clunker.

So I guess I'll be the beta tester on the anti fingerprint screen protectors. I'll order and try it out. Remind me to post a review. If you don't hear from me in a couple of weeks, then send me a reminder @ [email address]

Ok, got to work this morning after the long holiday break, and I found this in my mailbox.

Steinheil Anti-Fingerprint for BlackBerry (9520/9550) Storm2

I have to say that this could be the best thing to be invented since...well the phone itself! No fingerprints whatsoever. It went on easily, and I couldn't be happier. Now I do need to add, that there is a small amount of change in the clearness of the screen, but its so minor that you don't even think about it because now you aren't consumed by cleaning the screen anymore. Also when you slide your finger up and down on the screen, you can hear the sound of your finger across the screen, but really that could be because my hands are really dry and rough from the cold weather. But all in all I would rate this item a 9 out of 10, and am very pleased with the results.

High quality car wax applied to your Storm once a month eliminates visible smudging and also allows your fingers to slide across the screen easier.

I just saw another post regarding Meguiars PlastX being a good product for the Storm.

I used a carnuba based wax on my phone shield and it was great for eliminating lint and smudges. I am now using the phone bare and applying wax monthly and all is well. Takes only a couple minutes applying and buffing off with a quality rag.

Default Fingerprints on Storm

I just upgraded to the Storm2 and have not done anything yet. On my previous Storm I used a ZAGG invisibleShield. It is great and really reduces the fingerprints to nothing plus is completely scratch proof. Will likely put one on the Storm2 as soon as I get a chance.

has anyone tried using those LCD screen wipes used for laptop screens? someone recommended that to me, but I'm not sure how they would work on a storm 2 screen.

I got the Steinheil Anti-Fingerprint for BlackBerry (9520/9550) Storm2. It is a matte (not glossy) screen protector which is why it has no fingerprints. None at all after several days of use. The only downsides are that the screen is a bit less responsive to swipes, the screen is not as smooth, and there is a minor amount of what you might call "sparkle" or "grain" when looking at white areas of the screen.

But no none nada fingerprints.

A friend has the ZAGG which I am going to try also.
