hi guys, i have got the 8900 and have installed the v4.6.1.310 (platform 4.2.0.127) and i haven't noticed any difference between what i had before and now, any one knows if OS 4.5 means V4.5 or platform 4.5? and if what i have installed is good or no.

please let me know, cheeeers

OS 4.5 is not supported on the 8900, so don't worry about it.

OS 4.5 means Version 4.5. The platform number is completely different, and in most cases irrelevant.

tell me something i have V4.6 whats so good about it as it didn't see any difference yet between V4.6 and the old one what i used to have.

The old one you use to have on the 8900?
Each update 4.6.1.XXX improves battery life, and memory etc. Its all behind the scenes stuff.

Regardless of whether you're upgrading a BB OS or some other software on another platform, odds are that there won't be much in the way of differences from 4.6.x to 4.6.x.

Now, 4.0->4.5 or 4.0->5.0 would be a more significant change.

In future, I highly recommend keeping an eye on the "Latest OS" thread for you model. RIM doesn't include release notes so the discussion in the Latest OS thread is your next best bet to answering what changes were made and whether that particular build is "good" or not.
