Default Is v5 Really Available for the 8310?

Please Login to Remove!

I woke up this morning to see a level 1 message from BB saying v5 is available for my 8310. At least this message was delivered to my 8310. I tried to follow the links to upgrade but because I am activated on an enterprise server it won't let me do that. When I go to the normal software download page I see nothing beyond 4.5. If anybody else gets this and can actually upgrade their 8310 to v5 let me know..thanks.

Been a lot of problems with OS 5.0 from Verizon for the 9530. Since the OS is actually from RIM, I would be very careful before upgrading. Might not want to be the first guinea pig out of the chute just yet anyway.

Don, I'd be curious to see the message and what it said. For one, RIM or "BB" doesn't notify of OS upgrades (your carrier might).

Two, it's a pretty well-known fact that the 8310 won't be getting an OS 5 upgrade.

That's odd, because on the blackberry.com website there is a place where you can put in your BB email address to be notified of software updates, I did it.

The 8330 will get v5.0 OS. The 8310 and 8320 will not.

Thanks Penguin (and the OP), you're right.

But still there's no OS 5.0 for the 8310 anyway.

There has been a leaked os 5 for the 8330. But it will not be coming to the 8310.

Uh, yeah, I know.
I'm talking about the bulk mailing that was sent out by RIM, which is the topic of this thread.
