Default Keypad stopped working... wtf!

Please Login to Remove!

Hey everyone!

sorry if this question has been asked/answered already, I know what a pain in the as* that can be. I'm totally new to this forum and found it when I was searching the web to see why the curves keypad doesn't work anymore...

So here is the story:
the keypad on the curve stopped working, the roller ball did or sometimes does work still however you can't select anything. We didn't get any liquid on it. I found a thread about water damage and I took the battery out to see if there had been water damage, however the white square is still white. So what else could the reason be for the keypad to stop working?? I know that's one of the main reason's for a keypad to stop working... cause of water damage... right?

Really appreciate the input! Thanks

Welcome to the forums.

You're correct, water damage is probably the number one reason for a keyboard to stop working. Has the device been around moisture at all, say in the bathroom while you were showering?

sad to say... yup, apparently that's a big no no if you want your bb to keep running smoothly lol

I was hoping that wouldn't be the reason, is there any way I can find out if that's what caused the problem, and if so can I do anything to fix it without sending it in and having to pay out of my as*?

Of course. PULL THE BATT OUT, NO POWER SOURCE TO YOUR PHONE and dry it.
To speed up and make it more efficient, place it in dry uncooked rice for 3-5days. Then place batt in. Water/moisture should be sucked out.
