Default How to filter what emails go into Messages Folder, and filter views.

Please Login to Remove!

I have a new Tour, and there are 4 email accounts configured on it. One of them gets a lot of emails that are informative only. I would prefer if emails for this account did not appear in my main messages folder. Is there a way to accomplish this?
Note: I remember seeing somthing in a filter setting on the email accounts about send as L1. I wonder if that might help somehow?

Also, is there a simple way to view just text messages, both incoming and outgoing on the same screen? I get so many emails that I sometimes miss Texts, and I like to later go back and make sure I saw them all. But I only see folder selections for incoming or outgoing, not both.

Thanks!

For text messages: Messages > Options > General Options > Email & SMS = Separate.

To filter your messages:

Go into Messages > Menu Key > Search. From there change Service to a particular email account. Say Gmail for example. Press the Menu Key and select Save.

Set Title as Gmail, set Alt Key as G. Press the menu Key and select Save.

Then go into Messages and press Alt+G and it will filter out all emails for that account.

Follow the above steps for each email account. You can name each filter as you'd like and assign the alt keys as you'd like.

There's not a good way of preventing them from ending up in Messages. If you use the BIS filters then the email won't end up on the BB at all. What you see in Messages is just a view (delete it from either Messages or the email account icon and it's gone in both places) of all the email from all your accounts plus some other items.

Jsconyers's search method above is as close as you can get.

Thanks for the great info about the filters! You led me to this:
Messages->Menu->Search->Menu->Recall
And there I see some presets such as Alt-s for SMS only, which is exactly what I wanted.

As takeshi pointed out, I guess I can live without the filter: "show all but X". It would be cool if in the search filters, if you could select multiple folders. It seems like you can choose All folders, or any 1 folder. Oh well, this is of minor importance...
