Exclamation Radiation Levels

Please Login to Remove!

I'm sure this has been brought up before but I was reading USA Today (9/10/09) and they had an article rating radiation levels for various cell phones. Apparently the model I have, the 8330 Curve, has one of the highest levels @ 1.54. Guess I should use the speakerphone more often!

I'm sure this debate on safe levels vs. the amount of time used on the phone has and will go on for some time!

Oh My Goodness! I should throw my phone in a lead box right now.

Seriously, you get radiation from everything, including the sun. Are you going to stop going outside?
Here, it's already been ridiculed to death on crackberry.

Wirelessly posted

Even better of a reason to keep it in my pocket. Birth control for 100 bucks a month I'm gonna throw my stash of rubbers away and rely on my cellphone. Lol

This comes up every time the media needs to manufacture some news. It's right up there with the (so called) Learning Channel specials on Nostradamus. There are no studies that show cell phone radiation is harmful. At all. It is not ionizing radiation, so (sadly, I think) it will not turn you into a hundred-foot tall Godzilla-slayer with 35 tentacles, built-in rockets and one eye on the bottom of your foot. The most it will do is warm the surface of your skin a very little, if that. The radio wavelength used is not very efficient for that.

Upshot - if the media says its panic time, you can bet it's not.

A comedian said this about that paper, BTW - "USA Today - the newspaper for those who find TV too complicated".

You got that right! I used to work in news (CNN, ABC, etc.) and it all boiled down to, "What's the scare of the day?" basically! We're the first on the air with it, ratings, ratings, etc.!

According to the media, cell phone radiation caused the brain tumors that eventually killed Lee Atwater - Republican political strategist for Reagan and Bush 41.

I bet Michael Jackson talked on a cell phone. A LOT! Don't let that happen to your kids!

Sorry. Just couldn't resist.
