Default Email times

Please Login to Remove!

Emails received through BIS on TMO are showing up in BB Messages at the time received by the BB rather than the time of the email itself (usually a lag of 10-15 minutes). I'm not sure if this is something new on my BB or if I've only just noticed it. Is this the way it's supposed to be or is there a setting I can change? Thanks

Then I suppose the better question is why is there such a delay in tmo pushing the email to my BB? It's not much better than the gmail app (which doesn't claim to be push).

Email via BIS typically runs with a 15 minute delay. Not a carrier issue, but it is how the BB BIS works.

RIM polls your email servers every 15 minutes and pushes what it finds to the device. If mail was found, then RIM repolls in 2-3 minutes and pushes what it finds. This 2-3 minute cycle continues until mail is not found, at which time RIM reverts to the 15 minute poll and the cycle begins again.

The actual email time is available if you open the message.

Nothing unusual. Outlook on my computer works the same say. The time received is frequently different than the time the message was sent.

I have three separate email accounts set up through BIS and love the speed of getting the emails.

Well if you want them to be realtime and push at exactly the sametime as that email is sent then you must us a forwarding rule to the BB email address, or a yahoo email address.

Some people like it that way.
