Default Adding a menu item to email, or the browser?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I'd like to add a menu item to the messaging (email) and to the browser that essentially opens my app. Are there any good examples out there that could help me accomplish this?

See ApplicationMenuItemRepository and ApplicationMenuItem in the API docs.

You extend ApplicationMenuItem, implementing the run() method, then add the item to the repository for the specific application.

Will that be available every time (when the device starts)?

You have to set these when the device starts. The typical scenario is to create an alternate entry point and register the menu items on device startup.

There is an example of this in the BB developers guide.

Try this KB article:

Livelink - Redirection

Also, if you search the manual for "Alternate CLDC Application Entry Point" you will find several references.

Additionally, several of the demo p[rograms that ship with the JDE contain examples od this. Look at NotificationsDemo.
