Default Deleted users from server did not delete from phone before re activating

I recently deleted a user from server and did not wipe the phone before re activating their account. It ended up pulling all of the old emails from the phone resent every email in the phone ( received and sent ) as that user to everyone the email originally went to. Any ideas? I would have guessed that at worst it would have created duplicates in that users inbox.

how did you reactivate their account after you deleted them from the server? did you readd them and then run through enterprise activation? (you didnt mention)
even if you do not wipe the handheld before reactivation this is not something EA would do.
im skeptical that all emails (received and sent) on the device were resent.
really skeptical.

I deleted the account from BES, then when they came back from vacation added them back in. Went through the activation. I assure you it happened and I won't be making that mistake again.

Sorry ROC, but that just couldn't be the case... Did the user report this to you?? Did you SEE this with your own eyes? I promise you this could NOT happen. The user may have done something screwy like changed the delivery location of their pst to local while they were away and then set it back to the exchange mailbox which will redeliver their own mail to their inbox. Probably not it but I have activated thousands of BB's since EA was first introduced in every Service pack since up to and including 5.0. Your description is simply not possible. Please verify with the user EXACTLY what they did. Also, do they have a BIS email address associated or mixed in with this issue?

We are running groupwise not exchange. I had the phone sitting on my desk the entire time the user was away ( another story) so there was nothing odd done. Try it. It happened that way and I will be sure to never do it again but I was wondering if there was any explanation as to why at worst it did not just create duplicates in their inbox. I would have never guessed it would do what it did and I was lucky I caught it after only 160 emails went out.

Never heard of anything like this before...

How exactly did you stop the 'rest' of the emails from sending?

I pulled the battery then took it inside where we don't get a signal and reset the phone. As I test I tried to authenticate again after the wipe without deleting from the server and it errored out.
