I just upgraded from the Curve 8330 to the Tour 9630. I was very excited when the Facebook application was upgraded to 1.6 and allowed you to view full sized photos and albums that took up the whole screen on the Curve. Now that we have a better resolution screen on the Tour, pictures on Facebook come up smaller and you don't get to utilize the beautiful resolution to flip through these pics. What's up with that? Hopefully they fix that soon because that was one of the best "we're trying to compete with the iPhone app" upgrades that they did...and now it's gone.

I have been disappointed with all the facebook apps on all the BB, I have a tour (had a curve, then a storm) and an iphone - the iphone app blows the BB apps away for FB.

Facebook is way better on the BB browser than the FB app. The only utility of the FB app in my book and the reason why I leave it installed, is to upload photos from BB to FB.

The old Face Book app on Blackberry was pretty good! The new one that comes on the 8900 and I guess Tour (1.6) is pretty much sucky! Comparing the app to the iphone is a complete joke. But I'm a BB junkie at heart, and I happen to own Both the iphone 3Gs, and a slew of Blackberrys. So in being fair, even though the apps on the iphone, especially the Facebook app blow BB out of the water, there is no way to compare email and texing to the berry! The Berry just mops the floor wit the ihone. That's me just being fair to both devices...lol

I always found this to be the case until they came out with V1.5/1.6 and you were able to then look at albums, full profiles, etc in the app. The app downloads a lot faster than the browser and the pics would come FULL screen on the Curve. They don't do that on the browser. I liked that new addition because it made it easy to see pictures (naturally). Now it's back to shrunken pics when it's installed on OS 4.7 - which makes no sense to me.

But yes, I'm a FB junkie, too, so I go back and forth between the browser and the app depending on what I'm trying to do.

I find the app to be very slow, and the browser to be faster. Hmmm... Whatever works. Anything that cuts your time on FB can't be bad!
