Do you have a BB data plan?

Are you installing the right version? Did you get to it this way? Google Mobile | Maps for your phone

No need to bump. That does nothing here.

Did you try a battery pull on the BB?

Well the 8120 doesn't have GPS, but that shouldn't be the problem.

its possible of course that google maps will only work on OS4.5 and above....
I cant find any reference as to what it works on, as going via pc gets regular google maps and going via BB gets "install now" for google maps.

Earlier versions worked on 4.2 because I was using it on 8800. Maybe Lattitude is an OS 4.5 thing?

Was your browser set to "blackberry" or "IE" when you downloaded it?

On my 9530 the Google Maps works flawlessly. I use it frequently when I'm out looking at properties in San Diego. It seems like the GPS is a critical component, so I wouldn't discount the possibility that lake of GPS is the culprit.

You haven't said if you've tried a new OS or not. If you don't want to do that then see about getting an older version of Google Maps. I think people have found older versions through the Google Forums.

Wirelessly posted (Tmo's cheapest BB customer)

I can say that its definitely not an OS issue. I'm using OS 4.2 and the latest version of Google Maps with no problems.

Check here. Several different ways people have gotten it to work. One being removing the app using Desktop Manager and then downloading over the air using the BB browser. But other fixes mentioned.
