Default Upgrade 7100g to 4.1?

Please Login to Remove!

I have searched on several topics and cannot seem to find a general description of the benefots 4.1 would bring to my 7100g. I currently have 4.0.0.219 on my BB and I am interested in seeing if an upgrade would help with phoen quality issues in loud places and the fact that Bluetooh simply is too low to use with my MT850

Any feedback?

Well, considering that 4.1 is NOT OUT YET for the 7100g, that would be a good piece of feedback.

Ok - so maybe it isn't 4.1 - I was mistaken. I could swear a newer version of the software was released for the 7100g that was suppsoed to resolve some quality issues. Any feedback for that?

No need for flames - its a simple question. Thats what forums are for...

currently, 4.1 is only available for the DESKTOP MANAGER...don't get it confused with the HANDHELD SOFTWARE...

Sarcasm should not be confused with hostility.

it's 4.0.2 that you want. Why NOT upgrade? there is usually only improvements..

I'm looking to see if RIM will release the HID profile for Bluetooth in 4.1 so we can use any bluetooth keyboard.. but i'm not holding my breath.

There have been no flames here. Some sarcasm, perhaps, but people are really too thin skinned.

Please go HERE for the latest version, which is 4.0.2.82, which would be newer than what you have.

In that page, besides a download link, there is a PDF link with the information on what the latest release has and does. They are minor and incremental changes, yet significant. I would upgrade. The only stupid questions are those that do not get asked, but please, use the search function first.

Pretty common error. They are two distinct, but similarly numbered proggies that sould not be confused with each other but commonly are. How was what VR6 wrote hostile in any manner?

comon guys what are you fighting about? it sounds crazy. one if you feel that the sentence sounds hostile and theyre saying it's not, reread it, typing has no voice for nuances of pronunciation.

RyanOsh. Welcome to the site. You are asking for some pretty basic info. Best to check what's been organized on this site for your review -- click Search, above, then click Mark Rejhon's FAQs. Go to the first post in that thread. There is a wealth of general and detailed information organized for your review, with big headings on themes, in particular. Good luck.

I called Cell One today for a few things and was talking with the Blackberry Support department and I asked him when 4.1 handheld was coming out. He stated that it was allready out and available on the blackberry website. I asked him if he was sure it was handheld and not desktop and he assured me it was handheld. He then stated they'd be picking it up next week to download off their site but they were still working on testing it out.

I have searched blackberry.com over and over and have not found the download for 4.1 handheld anywhere. Did he not have a clue what he was talking about or is it there somewhere and I am just not able to find it.

Any info into this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a ton!
