2 main features the Bold has that the 8310 doesn't: WiFi and 3G.

Wirelessly posted (supercalifragilisticexpialidoc)

The screen resolution is way better also more memory.

Coming from a 8310 myself, the differences are night and day.

My home doesn't have 3G either (I travel to areas that have it), but that didn't dissuade me from stepping up.

If you can swing it, I recommend it highly.

I, too, came from the Curve and absolutely love my Bold. A few differences are:

- 3G - I know you said you don't have 3G in your area yet, but it really is light years better than EDGE.
- Screen size and resolution - I noticed this difference as soon as I turned on the Bold. I didn't really notice just how big of a difference it was until I started helping out a friend with her Curve. The screen of the Bold is beautiful.
- Keyboard size - The keys and size of the keyboard are a bit bigger. It takes just a little bit of typing to get used to it, but I believe I'm much faster typing on the Bold than on the Curve.
- Memory - With the Bold, I always have more than 50 MB of memory. With the Curve, it was always around 20-25 MB. So there's about twice the memory with the Bold.
- Overall size - The whole device is just a bit bigger than the Curve. I have big hands so it fits better in my hands.

Those are some of the top differences. If you can, go for the Bold.

One thing that sold my on Bold moving from 8310 was that it actually shows you web pages as they are rather than some crippled bits of text!!! Try it and you will never want to go back. For some people the new Curve 8900 could be an option.

This is of course a result of resolution and browser, 3G/Wifi also help

EVERYTHING.
Currently we have many curves and an increasing amout of Bolds in our group. The Curves are still prefered by many but not by any who have the Bold. Be prepared for a new experience because the Bold is much, much more than an upgrade. Comparing the Curve to the Bold is an excersise in disappointment. It's entirely user preference- Travel by Coach or Private Jet.

I just got a Bold and love it. It is very nice. I used to have the Curve and it is worth upgrading if you can.

Cool thread. I have the Curve 8300. Had it for 2 years and am getting alittle tired of it. Have been thinking about the Bold. I just found out I can upgrade my phone. Will try to see the Bold in person at a ATT store today, even though I hate going to the ATT stores. I figure if they have one in and I like it enough, I should be walking out with it instead of waiting for it online. I have big hands too so I dont mind the size at all if the Bold is alittle bigger.

I will say that if I do get it I will definitely be getting a protective case for it because from what I have seen, it looks to beautiful to let it get messed up.

Anyone know if there is any info on a Bold 9010 model or anything like that? Though I don't see what more they could add to it.

I just got bold from my 8700g.. I think it is big different.. and for the cost, my 8700g cost about USD 190, but for BOLD is free from the office :D

Definitely what I like BOLD are:
1. Browser
2. Speed
3. Storage
4. Connectivity *always use and connected the WIFI at home and office*

Drawback / I don't like:
1. A bit bigger than my old 8700g..
2. Battery *kinda need extended battery* since WIFI is taken the battery life so quickly.. *I guess*
3. 3G connection not so good in Asia.. so I can really have experience in 3G *need to move to other country LOL*

I went from the Curve to the Bold and love the 3G and WiFi capabilities. The screen is also awesome and I think the keyboard is far better. I also like the fact that the memory card is on the outside and I can use my phone as a mass storage device (I can easily upload podcasts and other things from iTunes and use my Bold as an mP3 player when I don't want to take my ipod with me somewhere).

The drawbacks of the bold is that it's a larger phone, a bit heavier, and the WiFi (if left on) can drain the battery a little faster.

If you don't need the 3G and WiFi, go with the Curve. It's a great little phone and the small size is a huge plus. However, if you want to use the internet quickly, go with the Bold.
