Default BB Desktop Manage software keeps freezing!!

Please Login to Remove!

I just got a new BlackBerry Storm and I cannot use the BB Desktop Manager on my Windows XP (Parallels) without it freezing at least 3 times before attempting to access anything successfully within any menu screen of the computer software.

Usually I have to unplug/replug in my phone to my computer, force quite the software, restart the software, repeat again and again as necessary.

I think I have the latest version of the Desktop Manager software (v4.7.0.75 (Platform 4.0.0.94))... any suggestions to making it NOT Freeze any time I use it?

Thanks!

LaurenR,

I am all the way MAC but have a PC Laptop I maintain to service my two Blackberry phones. My DM will freeze up the laptop if I plug in the phone before activating the DM. So I must open the DM, plug in the USB cable and then plug the USB cable into the BB in order for the process to work well. My laptop will also not startup with any USB cable plugged or thumbdrive plugged into it.

Additionally, my DM did not initially run at all after the initial install. I uninstalled, reinstalled and still a no-go. I think it was conflicting with some software I had installed on the PC. So I reformatted the hard drive, installed only the XP OS and then the Blackberry DM. Then it ran. But PC's are notorious for 3 party app complications. This is why I am now a MAC user.

Hope this helps.

I can't seem to find rhyme nor reason for the lockups either... no matter if the phone is connected first, or the opposite.

The only way I get it to work is to start desktop manager, have it freeze up, kill it with Task Manager, repeat until it works.

Whats up??
