Default WiFi on the Bold - what is it good for?

Please Login to Remove!

I recently upgraded to the Bold and set up the WiFi for data, but what is it supposed to do?

If I turn off my antennae (i.e. no longer on my cellular network), I can't get email, can't do BB messenger, can't do SMS messaging, but I can use the Browser.

Is that all you are supposed to be able to do? Just Browse?

Thanks in advance

I wouldn't turn off my mobile network
Wifi works with your network
Phone will use either transmission method
And wifi is definetly faster all around
I average 48-54 mps
And emails are also faster
What else are you looking to do via wifi?
Other than connect

My phone is a work phone and only works in Canada (my employer restricted that with Rogers to avoid the costs of the US as we don't have work there), I was hoping to travel with my bold to pick up email, text from the hotel (where there is WiFi), but it doesn't work.

When I try to use the Bold with just the WiFi option the phone says that there is no radio signal or its turned off.

Just wondering if I can get by with data on my bold, but no cellular service.

Thanks
