Default Bolt browser with the curve

Please Login to Remove!

Hey. I was just wondering if anyone else tried the bolt browser with their curve. I've heard great things about it, but when I tried it out on my curve, it lagged so bad. Is anyone else experiencing it?

I've tried it both and an 8830 and an 8330. Remember, this is still in beta. It ran alright, but scrolling is still a pain. It renders pages fast, but I can't deal with the buggy scrolling to use it on a consistent basis.

So true, its got promise though.

I still prefer Opera Mini for the Sync ability and the ability to download files directory to my Media Card which is a great plus.

The way I think of it, it loads fast because it's loading on their server and showing the page. And you're kind of navigating the mouse as if you were navigating the website on someone else's computer. So it is laggy, like GoToMeeting, or GotomyPC. I agree, lots of promise though.

I have found that it does do a nice job of downloading video. I have pulled several CNET videos very nicely, and am working on trying the ESPN Podcenter right now. Opera Mini would transfer it, but it would not be in a supported format. Bolt changes it to a playable format. Pretty sweet!

Yeah it does have a lot of promise. I can't wait for the next update. Anyone hear any news on it?

the scroll on the page blows. I want faster scrolling, but no matter what I try it does not help.

I didn't start using it until the most recent version (.83 i think)... have it installed on my VZW curve with the .131 OS... LOVE IT!

I use the bb browser mostly but BOLT is, for me, more enjoyable than Opera and better for media rich pages.

Do you know about the key shortcuts? 2/e key is up, 4/s key is left, 6/f key is right, 8/x key is down. Works that way in Opera also.

Default Scrolling is a killer

Just downloaded and tried Bolt this morning. All good except the scrolling which is a "deal breaker" for me. Deleting for now, but will look for updates as they become available.

Same here love the speed but hate the scrolling, I hate it so bad that it is useless at the moment, still like opera mini best, you know what would be good, tab browsing, I really use browser a lot and sometimes for an the move research having access to a group of sites at the same time is pretty good

i upgraded immediately when i saw that .86 was out this morning, but it still has not fixed perhaps the most glaring issue, as you guys have mentioned: the SLOW scrolling. why would they even bother with releasing an update without improving the scrolling?

I'm going to wait until they do a full release because the scrolling was horrendous, but everything else was good!
