Default BES Activation Question

Please Login to Remove!

I have searched for the answer to my question and have not found it. Sorry if this is a duplicate question....

Anyways I have been having problems with my Verizon 8130 and am replacing it, and currently trying a TMo 8220. My question is, I know to use the ESN to link to the BES but what info do I change for use with the 8220 since it doesn't have an ESN? Basically what do I have my IT department put in the BES to activate my 8220 on the BES? This is the first TMo phone on the network.

Thanks for your help,

LG

Hmmm... Every BlackBerry device has a Pin/ESM/IEMI, ESN is an Electronic Serial Number, I would log into your BIS account and change your device then wipe the original device.. Make sure you tell you IT/BES Admin to remove the old device/useer account, and have him generate you another activation password for you.

So they don't have to enter an esn or any other type of number that identifies my device?

I just plug the email address and password they assign me and it begins the activation automatically?

I assumed they asked for my esn because they needed it for the BES.
Thanks

Yes. Only what you need is a new password for activation. You can move all database from older BB to new.

Your IT dept probably asked for the device ESN just for document what devices for inventory purposes.
