8310 reception and battery problem

Hi everyone.
I recently updated the device software in my 8910 curve (from 4.2 to 4.5). Initially, didnt face with any problems. However over the last fortnight or so, whenever I speak on the phone, both myself and the person at the end get a shrilling sound during the conversation followed by my phone going completely dead. This whole process takes a max of 4-5 mins, which means I cannot speak for more than that time even with full battery.
I restart my phone either by charging it again or by taking the battery out. At first I thought it was a battery problem and that the same had died down, but upon restarting, the battery is still like 70 to 85%. And if I make a phone call again, the problem gets repeated.
Have taken it to the Technical Department at my Service Provider. They reinstalled the software, but the problem persists.
Any take on whats happeneing please. Greatly appreciate a quick response.
