Question Camera Listener

Hi

I am also looking for an API Listener which has capabilities to catch the camera events in Blackberry. Is there any such listener which notifies our application when we take a picture ?

If anyone knows this or have used please come up and give the necessary info to begin with.

you can add a folderlistener and be alerted whenever a picture the camera has taken is written to the file system.

Question Camera Listener

Hi,

But In that case there is a problem if we add a folderlistener/filelistener,
Note that it will be notified whenever a new file is added, it is not necessary
that it is from the camera operation/capture, it may also notify when we
download a picture/file, or when we add/modify a file.

So Is there any direct Listeners as that of PhoneListener, PhoneLogListener ?
that can be used to detect whenever user takes a snapshot.

I see the PlayerListener API, Please let me know if that can be used.

Default Camera Listener

Hi Jfisher and Simon

But I see in a Blackberry press release, that they have support for
registering listeners with the Camera application that enable an application
to be notified when a new picture is taken.

Here is the link to that page where I see the press release.
BlackBerry - BlackBerry Press Releases

I guess there must be an API Listener or something like that. But need to
find it out.If someone used or familiar with this, Please help with giving
the necessary information.

fwiw - i remember a press release from 2 or 3 years ago saying we'd be getting a 3D API and that never happened either.

In OS 4.6 and higher, you can embedd the camera field in your application using JSR-135 (VideoControl) and take the picture using VideoControl.getSnapshot().

For earlier OS levels, you use the Invoke API to call the camera application, and use the system journal listener to detect when the picture is added to the file system. In JDE 4.3 and higher, there is an example of this called CameraDemo.
