Greetings all!
I've been waiting for the 'real' verdict from the 'real' blackberry users, and I haven't seen much out yet. So I thought I would share my experience.
I've been using the 8830 for over a year, which isn't that long compared to some others I expect. But I run and own an consulting business, I'm a full-time software engineer, I have a family with 3 kids, (my wife owns the pink perl), and I'm 2 classes from completing my Master's degree. I say all that, to stress the point that my blackberry is an intricate part of my life.
Last Friday I waited in line to purchase the Storm (despite mostly negative reviews and postings from the BB Power user groups). To make a long story short, Tuesday evening I took the Storm back and picked up the Curve.
I was not too disappointed, as I wasn't expecting too much. Actually, from a performance and functionality perspective, I expected the Storm to at least give me what I had with the 8830, while delivering new and exciting features, but I was very very frustrated with the device.
I do a lot of my communicating with my team, and my wife via email and text messaging. It is not uncommon for me to write several paragraphs in response to a customer (which is usually another business owner or department head). Often I need to create a meeting invitation on my BB when walking between my cube and the bathroom. I need speed, reliable, swift functionality!
I could probably write even more details on my experience with the Storm, but I am truly happy to have the Curve in my hands now.
In summary, Touch Screen phones are not ready for me yet! and may never be... The Curve meets my needs.. now if Verizon would just pickup the Bold!!
