Default Adding external jars with eclipse

Please Login to Remove!

This should be an easy question but I can't seem to figure it out. Does anyone know the way you add 3rd party jar files to a project in eclipse? I wanted to use kxml2.jar but everytime I get:

searching installed codfiles for alias 'kxml2-2.3.0'
Searching uninstalled codfiles for alias 'kxml2-2.3.0'
Module 'kxml2-2.3.0' not found.Error starting RimLocator: Module 'kxml2-2.3.0' not found.

I added the jar like a normal eclipse project by adding the jar to the build path.

I ran accross this documentation but it is for the JDE and not everything matches up in eclipse:

How To - Compile a jar file into a BlackBerry Library
Article Number: DB-00042

blackberry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/348583/800901/How_To_-_Compile_a_JAR_file_into_a_BlackBerry_Library.html ?nodeid=801017&vernum=0

Any ideas.

Thanks.

HI,

There are two ways of doing this,

First the way you have done. But that don't normally work as that will add Jar to the eclipse environment and not the Blackberry simulator environment.

Second, right click on the project and select "Add file to Blackberry Project". This will add the JAR file to the blackberry context and hence will be accessible. I m not sure about ur case, but it does work out.

Hope it helps!!

Unfortunately i believe the latest eclipse plugin doesn't include the 'Add File to Blackberry project' as a menu item. Since that doesn't exist do you have any idea?

well,

how about creating a separate project and adding that JAR file to that project and adding this newly created project as a reference to your existing project. We do it in case of ksoap2 if you have heard of it.
