Upgraded to OS 4.5.0.81 on my 8820, did a full wipe before upgrading. Only have two browsers now, the MediaNet and Hotspot browser, not really sure if there should be a third blackberry browser. On my curve I had Medianet and blackberry browser (no wifi obviously). Am I missing the third browser, or is this just how this OS and device comes?
I've tried reinstalling the upgrade, registering host router tables, and all the typical steps I'd take first.

If you email yourself a link and click on the link, what happens?

You went into Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Menu Key > Register now?

I registered the routing tables a few times and nothing happened.

If I send myself a link it opens in the medianet browser if I'm using my radio connection, when I'm at home it opens the hotspot browser cause I'm on wifi.

I just went to mobile.blackberry.com to check out something and the site only directed me to blackberry.com because it didn't recognize my phone, which I found pretty weird from what I remember on all my other phones it was different.

I'd appreciate any help if you have any ideas. If I still can't figure anything out I might downgrade a version and see if that helps.

Cheers.

I have this same problem with my 8820. Resending the service books did absolutely nothing. I have the hotspot browser available in the menu, but it doesn't actually work. I've bandaided the problem w/Opera Mini 4.1.

I'm having the same problem on my 8700. After I upgraded to 4.5.0.81 I lost my blackberry browser and now I can't gt it back. I've tried just about everything but nothing works.

Hello,

I have had this problem a few times myself and it is a service book issue - the problem I have found is that if you talk to someone at your carrier who is not familiar with BB's you will not get very far.

When this happened to me I got though to a BB 'expert' who specifically sent me the Browser info.

Am I right in thinking that you don't have the BlackBerry HELP icon either (the one with the yellow plus signs) as this also appeared on mine when they sent the browser details.

I have an 8800 on AT&T and recently upgraded to 4.5. I too lost my Internet browser. I'm on BES so I have by company intranet browser however they block many sites from the firewall. I've tried everything here (and more) to get the AT&T internet browser back but no luck. Wondering if putting a call into to AT&T customer service would help? I too have installed Opera 4.1 as a holdover to either somehow getting the internet broweser or upgrading to the Bold.

Any thoughts on how to correct this are greatly appreciated.

Well, I resent my service books and registered the host routing tables again today and surprisingly the AT&T Internet browser appeared! Not sure why or how but I'm now fully functional on 4.5. This was the missing link for me post upgrade.

Yea I'm not really sure what I did but I messed around with it for long enough to finally get it working. I really don't know what it was that did it, but I went on the ATT websites and called their support to make everything was setup correctly, and that seemed to do the trick.

I wish I had known what it was that was causing this, but I guess that's not as important as having it fixed.

Thanks for the advice, I'll call and try and get someone that's specifically BB oriented. I was able to get over this problem, but it's still good to know.

Thanks again
