Default Empower and OS 4.5 - can't open attachments?

Please Login to Remove!

I recently upgraded to OS 4.5 on my T-Mo Curve 8320, and now with Empower, I can't open email attachments (JPG, Word). When I hit the menu option, nothing happens when before, it would give me menu options such as 'open attachment'.
I checked my APN and also that the Blackberry Attachment Service is checked in my BB Desktop.. yes.
If I delete Empower, I am able to view attachments with the HTML email viewer that comes with the OS 4.5. I've contacted Empower, and they are looking into it, but curious if anyone else has the same issues?

Tks,

Exactly what I'm going through now. I can't even get html email any more and my empower wouldn't even show my emails after the upgrade.

I am personally dissatisfied with the lack of support from empower. I paid good money and was able to use it for a wopping 2 weeks before os 4.5 came out. It was then useless and no updates have been made. Waste of money. Do NOT waste your money on empower!!!

My html email on the new OS finally came through this weekend. It's nice but not as good as empower. I can live with it though.

I removed Empower because of all the problems since I upgraded to 4.5. Couldn't open attachments, couldn't use key shortcuts in messages. Sent several messages to Empower and only got one initial response, nothing on the 2-3 other questions I sent. As native os html gets better, Empower's day's are numbered.

Ditto to all.

I was told 3 months ago by support that they're looking into it, still haven't heard back; and I've sent many many followup emails with no responses. Every day that passess Empower loses its market share and credibility, not because of OS4.5's HTML, but because of their extremely poor showing etc.

Wirelessly posted (8130 Pearl (Sprint))

Its conflicts with the bbos programming and their software causing the issues. I think its sad they haven't released a 4.5os version yet... Or at least a fix for the problems

Default bb smart

BB Smart seems to work ok, I can open attachments with it.
I like the appearance of Empower, but, to not be able to open attachments, well, that sucks. I deleted it.

How quickly does Empower get updates out for BES MailBox? Just wondering how long we'll have to wait for 4.5 support.

1. When you first access BES MailBox (on an 8330 anyway) it quickly shows you the BIS or Messages inbox before displaying the contents of the BES MailBox.

2. My BES MailBox icon is not displaying the unread message count.

#1 is not a problem, more of an annoyance that I don't even notice anymore.

#2 try uninstalling and reinstalling. I don't know why yours is doing that.

Well, I did that and it prompted me to reboot the device, which I did. However it's like it didn't really remove it completely because when I redownloaded the Trial and then go to Homescreen > Options > BES MailBox, I have no "Register" menu item. Oh, and it's still not showing the unread message count.

Also, when I select the checkbox next to "Enable Alerts" within the BES MailBox options, it won't hold that setting despite me saving the change. Every time I go back in there it's deselected again.

I am extremely upset that I purchased Empower Pro to have it randomly work when I had decided to upgrade to the 4.5 OS on my Blackberry Curve 8330. I should have done my homework, but the team over at Empower Interactive have this posted, "Supported on ALL OS 4.1 and above", which to me means 4.5 as well. I think they should refund our money or have us select a product of equal value that is supported on the 4.5 OS. This is fraud, that there claim was ANY operating system above 4.1. I am going over to their web site to kick some ???, I will be in touch.

I'm with ya. It definitely does not work right with 4.5, but their Support is totally non-existent. I was even working with their leading retailer, Mobihand.com, to get support and they would not even respond to their requests to assist me.

Wirelessly posted

I gave up on them months ago when they stopped responding to my requests. Guess they could see the writing on the wall once the os had native html.
