If I am with att and get a unlocked att blackberry can you re-lock it?

No, once unlocked, always unlocked.

If you are with ATT, and you buy an unlocked ATT BlackBerry, it can later be used on another GSM network carrier, such as TMO.

yeah its better to leave it unlock that way carriers wont track you down.

with an unlocked phone I am under the impression that you can'r recieve multimedia texr, ringtones etc. from your carrier, isn't that the case...

It has been posted here hundreds of times: unlocking your device for use on another carrier does nothing to cripple, disable nor remove any capabilities of the device.

so with a unlockded phone I will be able to download ringtones from the att website and still recieve all my text messages....I don't know where I got that information then.
