Yesterday I downloaded a theme pack from blackberrywallpapers.com that included two different themes... which ultimately started the curiousity to find out how to create my own themes... I'm interested in finding out how to create them, but have not found anything yet on the web [blackberry.com, google etc. etc.] or on here...

anyone have any idea what you need as far as utilities to create the images and to create the theme file?

LOL not the answer I was lookin for, but hey funny nonetheless! I'm probably gonna pull apart the cod files that I've found and see what is inside... not the easiest way to learn but hey, sometimes that's the best way to learn...

well, one thing to remember is the CODs are obfuscated, so it may be tough... if you figure it out, let us know.

Found out on the blackberry.com developer site that the creation of themes is done by RIM and RIM only. Since the platform is very much closed source, RIM does not look to be releasing the API's any time soon for custom them creation... bummer!

jibi - yeah you were right about the cod files. I'm not even going to try to reverse it, since I would probably get sued by RIM for doing so.

we all can empathize with your frustration and pain...and your pain and frustration...
and the lack of decent themes...

Dont wanna hear about orange and vodafone and tmobile theme and black background or a white background or changing the fonts....

Dont wanna see anymore screenshots of people's phones..

Just want a tool to create a theme...

How hard could that be to provide that to end power users! I may start a thread about that..
