Default Google Maps

I upgraded to 4.5 software on the 8320. Everything is working except for Google Maps. The hanheld just locks up after I "Allow" the app. Anyone else seen this?

Was Google Maps on there before you upgraded? Try installing it again. Go to google.com/gmm from your blackberry.

Yes, if your browser is using the WiFi to connect to the internet, then just go to google.com/gmm

I had it before I upgraded and it worked fine for me. Unistall it and then go to m.google.com/maps and reinstall it.

This is a known error; you might to use Google Maps v 1.6.4 if you are using OS 4.5 on a BES system.

Search the forum for tons of further info!

Even if 4.5 is no longer in beta, alot of users are still experiencing the error with google maps on 4.5. Heck, I was experiencing battery drain problems with .52 and .55 but I guess you are not since your running it.

It doesn't mean that if it works fine for you, it works fine for everybody.

Good point but it does indicate that there's more than just a single variable at play. A lot of the linked threads assume that it's just 4.5 at fault or 4.5 & BES. There's definitely something else in each case since not all people meeting either set of criteria are affected for some reason.

Looks like I fixed the issue. Basically, I wiped the device. Reinstalled the official release and installed Google maps via ALX and everything is fine and dandy.

Sheesh, should have done that to begin with..
