i was pacing back and forth trying to decide if i was gonna post this here or the new members, but i thought here would be better.

Lol, anyway how are you guys doing, i just picked up my 8830 WE yesterday and so far i'm loving it. Coming from a variety of phones, 3 in the last year and a half, i decided to take the blackberry plunge, and i hope it turns out good, i read alot on how the blackberry is a business powerhouse, so i cant wait to get into it!

I am a hardcore sms/mms text messaging user, even more so then voice, due to my line of work you hardly get time for calls *loud environments* so texting is great..especially in college too.

after rocking a few handsets, i just figured i'd get this off my chest. First off slider phones, and any type of variation on them are just crap. I went through 2 in a year, and ended up snapping my second one in half in a fit of rage when it didn't work. After that i picked up a Palm Treo 700wx that was running Windows Mobile 5. That was the best phone i ever had, touch screen, easy to use interface, it was just an awesome phone. About 6 months in i started to notice weird things happening, longer program start times, very slow operation etc. Another downfall of that phone i think is because there was no option to ever "turn it off", it was connected every day, 24 hrs a day for a year and half. And like i said, i'm a big texter, i never intentionally deleted any text messages off that phone, and i started noticing as more and more were filling my inbox the phones usability was suffering. To put it in short i used that phone to its physical capacity, and palm/wm5 having absoloutely no option to back up sms messages was the nail in the coffin for it. At time of deactivation i had probably 12,000 (12 thousand) text messages in my inbox, and atleast 10,000 in my sent folder. That phone didn't owe me a single thing though, it held up to great physical use, and i was sad to have it deactivated.

But i'm already loving the text messaging on my BB and the ability to organize them and everything, still working out the kinks..but i sure hope i can get more out of this one then my last phone.

Sorry if that was a little long but im tired and on a couple drugs so i thought i'd tell a story LOL
