does this make a big difference in how fast our blackberrys read the info off the card or do they read slower than most memory cards can transfer data?
Thanks,
Chris
P.s. thanks jsanders for answering my question in the other memory thread.
SDHC cards have SD Speed Class Ratings defined by the SD Association. The SD Speed Class Ratings specify the following minimum write speeds based on "the best fragmented state where no memory unit is occupied":[18]
* Class 2: 2 MB/s
* Class 4: 4 MB/s
* Class 6: 6 MB/s
SDHC cards will often also advertise a maximum speed (such as 133x or 150x) in addition to this minimum Speed Class Rating. See section Speeds above for a further explanation. One critical difference between the Speed Class the maximum speed ratings is the ability of the host device to query the SD card for the speed class and determine the best location to store data that meets the performance required. "Maximum speed" ratings are quoted by the manufacturers but unverified by any independent evaluation process.
all the 8gb are class 4 and the 4gb i have already is class 6. i dont think the video camera uses over a half meg a second does anyone know how fast the blackberry writes and reads the card.
heres another thing i just took a 20 sec. video on the best quality the phone has and it was only a 1mb. so all it has to write is .05 megabytes a second to do video.
i was about to say, wtheck i jsut paid a fortune for mine haha, but yeah its not micro- i know where yall can get a micro SDHC 8gb class 6 card- just pm me if you want the link
