Does anybody else have this problem with their 7100g?
My Cingular 7100g frequently (about 20 times a day) puts out some kind of strong radio blast that causes landline phones and speakers in the room to emit a loud buzzing pattern (sounds kind of like drunken morse code). The buzzing goes on for about 5 seconds and then it stops. For instance, I'm sitting in a conference room at work and there's a speaker phone sitting on the table (the phone is OFF!) - all of a sudden the speaker inside the phone starts buzzing in this crazy pattern. Everybody stops talking and says "what the heck was that?, the phone isn't even on..". This same buzzing affects regular telephones too when they're in use to the point that I have to stop talking and apologize the the person on the other end. It's happened with other speakers also so it's not just phones. If I move the 7100 far enough away (like ten feet) it stops. There are two of us at work and we both have the exact same problem. The other guy has a metal box on his desk where he puts his 7100 when he's using his office phone so he can talk without interference. I get a ton of email pushed to my phone and that seems to have nothing to do with this buzzing. My email goes in and out all day long without causing the buzzing. It's something else. Any thoughts?
Thanks.
I like to tout this to my users as an extra "feature" added by Blackberry to give you an early warning system for when you are about to receive email. Some laugh... some don't.... story of my life.
