Question Gmail to Gmail

Please Login to Remove!

Since I made it where my Gmail "sent" mail does not duplicate itself to my BB, I am still trying to make a way to have an email I send to myself from my Gmail come through. Is this possible? For example...

I have a Gmail named abc123@gmail and I want to send an email to [email address]. I do this because sometimes I want to quickly send some photo attachments or quick reminder note, etc. But using the method described in this thread....the email gets filtered out and never gets pushed to my BB. Any suggestions???

If you filter out your email like that then you can't send email to yourself from gmail to gmail.

Any work arounds for this...where I don't receive "sent" mail but also get my email to myself from a Gmail account?

No, there is no workaround. If you filter out your own address in the from field the messages will not be forwarded.

You could use a second Gmail account. Set one up to send these messages that you would like to get in your Gmail account and on your BlackBerry, or send them to that new address and add that address to your BlackBerry as well.

gmail has a feature where you can add +anything to an email adress and still get to you.

so instead of sending it to [email address], send it to abc123+myself@gmail.com

where "myself" can be anything you want.

EDIT: Nevermind.. this feature doesn't help you.. don't mind me, I must be drunk. :D

EDIT2: Does AT&T give you an email addr? Tmo gives out tmo.blackberry.net email addresses.

Love this feature of gmail. Would be interested if it makes it past the filter.

Yep, you are right. It did not pass the filter either. Yes U do have the at&t BB email but I want the emails I send to myself to also reside on the web for easy access. Anyone else with any suggestions?

Not possible. I'd create another GMail address.

actually, going back to my idea, can you make ANOTHER filter that would always allow any email that's TO abc123+myself@gmail.com be forwarded? One that has a higher priority than the one filtering anything FROM abc123 out?

EDIT: ooo.. I tried it and it works!

I've done it in the past and it didn't work right most of the time. Some messages were delivered fine. Others were delayed for hours or just didn't show.

just to toss it out there if you have multiple email accounts you don't have to have an icon for each one. You can easily manage which "from" you want to use in your main message screen.

Just curious about the not wanting a second email address. Heck, an extra email address to be used for forms, sites, etc can be great for minimizing spam in your main account.

Good luck with whatever you choose.
