Hey everyone,

I wanted to know, is there a way to turn off all of the sounds on the blackberry? When I have it on the vibrate profile, sounds are still coming out of it like the camera shutter sound, voice dial lady, etc. Is there a way to turn everything off but keep vibrate on?

Thanks!

voice dial lady? I don't know about her. Do you have the BB on speakerphone at the time?

The camera shutter sound-- no.

The key to keeping your BB silent while in silent or vibrate profile, is to not use those apps which make noise or sound, such as the camera, or even the Media player, of course.

Why would you need to silence the camera shutter?? Unless you are sneaking pictures...lol.

i friggin HATE shutter sounds. yeah, it keeps people from sneaking pics at the gym but it also causes serious delay. when you press the shutter release button and when the picture actually takes are two very different times. i tried to get a picture of my boy on the swing yesterday and the result is about five pictures of his feet as he swung past my phone.

let's assume your taking a still picture. the delay add distortion/noise to the image because unless you can hold the phone completely motionless you'll get a distorted picture.

cCam makes a great solution for symbian OS...does anyone know if someone makes an alternative camera for blackberry?

Yea, it would be cool if someone found the file with the shutter sound in it or something so we could delete it... Also does anyone know how to stop the phone from making sounds when you press a number or are typing in a number on vibrate?

I hate to say it but I wouldnt be taking life moment pictures with a camera phone. My kids deserve better than that from me. A camera phone is great for things that arent moving or I just need to show someone something quick. I take constyruction pictures with it but not much else.

Still; that shutter sound is annoying. The privacy argument is crap.

My Leica is quieter than that thing; and every other smartphone can shut off the fake shutter click sound.
