Tell me this isn't true?
At&t is telling me it is, it doesn't make sense, you'd think you'd get it as apart of the 30$ unlimited data package?
Could someone confirm this ridiculousness?
Yes! I know! I knew this before this at&t cust serv person attempted to fill my ear w/ junk! Lol ... But she's saying this JUST happened (the change from it using data to per sms)
ATT doesnt determine the way a program accesses the server, JiveTalk uses the TCP/IP path to transfer messages. I have been using JT for a while, and never got charged for 1 SMS.
And now, JT uses WiFi as well, so i like that!
If you didnt mention jiveTalk specifically, then the rep probably assumed you were using the ATT AIM app, OZ instant messenger. Which uses SMS..

*Sigh*
You must be new to at&t. You can't trust the word of a single at&t rep, sadly. Ask 3 different ones the same question and you're likely to get 3 different answers. Jivetalk does not use SMS for message delivery -- see BeeJive :: JiveTalk mobile messenger - instant messaging to go for details. The rep is either ignorant or is confusing Jivetalk with another IM app.
