Default Gmail and Curve (Tmo) - :(

Please Login to Remove!

wow, I love Google to death and all their products, but GMAIL and my Curve do NOT like eachother. I can't get my damn email on a regular basis! Gmail Imap sucks too! POP has worked the best but most of the time it delays every e-mail! Ahhhh!

Does anyone have any clue if there is progress being made on google's part? I tried looking it up on their help discussions but nothing.

Wirelessly posted (8130 Curve)

I don't have any issues with gmail pushing to my curve. I'm also on the tmobile network. I set mine up as IMAP. Mabey check your settings? Btw my delay is less than a min.

Mine works flawlessly. I have it set through BIS with IMAP turned on in my GMail account.

Is there a way to set the gmail app to notify you of new email? That is the only reason I don't use it. Other than that I would. Just think its funny an email app that doesn't notify you lol.

I have my Curve setup with Gmail using IMAP as an Internet Email account on the Blackberry. It works pretty well. I get my messages within minutes of them being sent.

Gmail has been aweful with me and my ATT Curve. Its a gmail problem not blackberry. i have my email setup thru the bis and my imap is off. My brother has the same problem with his 8800 on verizon.

I have been fighting with blackberry on a daily basis for the past 3 months over this issue and i continue to have problems.

My emails come fast as hell sometimes and then other times they come 7-10 minutes late, and other times really late.

the only solution i know, is to make my own domain and then push thru my own email network.

it really has been a pain in the ass for me

Is there anyway to setup a Tmail account or a school email account on the curve?

Doesn't IMAP poll for new mail? I'm stubborn to use the GMAIL APP even though it's all pretty and all, I mean I am paying for Push e-mail, why would I have the app. :(

GMail and Yahoo have a relay service set up with RIM to provide speedy notification of new messages on their network to their Blackberry users.

IMAP may slow down your response time as compared to non-IMAP. There are other posts to show the inconsistency of this.

In any case, I am not having any issues with my GMail set up through the BIS on my BB, or the standalone app either.

Hope this helps.

I've noticed it can take up to ten minutes to receive new mail, and sync anything. One thing I really liked about POP was that SENT messages were stored under SENT. Now they just don't show up. I can't find threads relating to this.

I just set up IMAP again and it's working, even with a significant delay, I really enjoy the syncing of read items from my phone to gmail. However, it doesn't sync the other way around. :( This is understandable though.

Is there any way to rename my sent or do anything to store sent messages? Any other IMAP tips?
