Default BB USB charging issue

Please Login to Remove!

Hi- I want to install music on my memory card that I just bought on the BB. I put the usb port in the back of my computer and plugged it into the BB I got a message on the BB that said USB charging current is not sufficient. I have tried every USB port on my PC any suggestions??

Have you loaded the Desktop Manager software?

I can adjust my power settings on my computer. In these settings, I can change the settings to make the USB "powered" or not. The USB always works but there are some other settings to send more power outbound from the laptop or something.

Sorry, I can not specifically tell you what I am talking about. It is a little fuzzy. But when I choose to power my laptop in "power save" mode, the USB port have less power that goes outbound.

There is an option to disable power saving by component. So say if you don't want your ethernet card to turn off while in standby, useful in remote waking up a machine by pinging it. Also do you have usb2.0 connection? I am thinking your usb may hub/what ever is integrated is not considered a powered hub and the bb will not charge like that. Also sometimes it will not recoginze the connection for charging a good reboot fixes it usually(on my work machine- I leave it on 24-7). Also what os are you using? I have had issues charging devices on usb 2.0 on win2k machines specifically.

This happens to me all the time / desktop or laptop, with different versions of Desktop manager. All USB 2 ports. About 4-5 different machines.

Its nothing to worry about, just unplug, and replug back in
