New BES Admin. BES 4.1.2. Domino 7.0.2.

I'm in the process of trying to figure out why Sametime isn't being pushed to a device (8830). It was able to push to my device (8830), but doesn't push to another 8830.

So in the process, I was reading this KB article: BlackBerry Search Results

It says to check the POLC logs for a certain error. When I check that BES log, all I see is "UTF-8 encoded" and that is it. A bunch of the other BES logs have information. How do I get it to log this?

Second question. Does anyone know why I would be able to push Sametime to one 8830 and not other? The only thing I can think of is the OS on the device. I have .176, and the troubled device has .148. But I have been able to push to other 8830s with .148.

What's the policy log level set to?

(Blackberry Server Configuration, Logging, go down the list to the POLC one, check "debug log level")

If it's set to 0 (or the maximum size is set to a very small value?) I guess you might get the effect that you're seeing.

Also, make sure that your Policy service is actually running.
