Default How do I set it to send emails from a default account?

Please Login to Remove!

I've tried setting my blackberry email as the default but it still sends from another of my accounts.

Also, and perhaps more importantly, it wouldn't let me register the public email addresses that my clients see, only the hidden email address that my ISP assigns me and that my emails are forwarded to. Therefore emails sent from the BB show this other address. Is there any way i can tell it to show my public email address instead, when I'm sending an email?

If you go into your Blackberry Internet Service (webclient) account, you can instruct the Blackberry which accounts to use as your "sending" account. This can be changed to whatever you choose for each account.

I think you can go to Options>Advanced>Default Services and set the default email account from there.

great, thanks for the tip off about the internet service. that's fixed now.

the other problem about the default account isn't though. i'd already set it to my chosen default account (and have just tried again) but it ignores this and sends from the last account to be used instead.

btw, is there a shortcut to writing an email or text? at the moment i'm going through the apps menu. (can you guess, i'm a complete BB newbie...?)

thanks for your patience and help.

The BlackBerry will remember the last account used when composing or replying to a contact. So if you have a Yahoo! and Gmail account configured, and you the Yahoo! is the default, it will default to the Gmail account if someone sent you an e-mail to that address and you reply to it. You will have to manually set it to the one you want to use. This is also the case if you are composing a new e-mail. It will default to the last account used to send a message to that contact.

If you disable the Dial from Home Screen setting (Phone > Options > General Options) then you can use the 'C' key to compose a new e-mail from the Home Screen.

If you don't disable the Dial From Home option, then once in your messages inbox, you can use the "c" form there. Also when composing, you can use the space bar to cycle through your email accounts in the "send using" field (very top of the new mesage). I find that's much faster than using the menu options as well.
