Hi curious to know if anyone was able to successfully find a way to stop the creaking noise on the sides of the Curves (coming from the rubber side panels)...thinking of opening up the Berry to see if maybe it could be remedied by tightening of screws...if anyone that has already tried I would greatly appreciate your thoughts and advice...

Regards...

I tried something without opening the phone. The Curve doesn't open as nicely as the 8700. I took off the battery cover and slipped a very small piece of folded paper behind the rubber railing. You have to push it all the way down, otherwise you'll be able to see it when the battery cover's back on. Put the paper right where the trouble spot is. If you use too large of a piece of paper, the rubber railings will buldge out.

I found that adding a business card in the battery compartment has made a big difference in the creaking. I had to cut along the edges and "notch" out a place for the camera and speakerphone. It seems just the right width to made the whole device feel tighter. And the business card adds the extra benefit of having my contact info on it.

I tried this solution. I cut and folded a small piece of paper small enough to fit in between the space under the battery cover (squeaky part right under the right side button on the phone). It works great. No more annoying noises when I grab the phone and also no bulge. Thanks for the tip.

luckily none of my 8310's side creaks.. i was thinking that perhaps only 8300 creaks because its missing a GPS chip or the WiFi chip hence the empty space...but who knows..

what i did with my old 8300 was to use the Styrofoams that came with my OEM BB case. You cut it up nice and thin and put it between the battery door and the battery.

Just a thought.

I had the same problem with my BB. Got it replaced from a TMobile store. The new once feels more solid but gotta wait and watch for atleast next 7 days. The previous version started squeaking after 2/3 days of usage.

I am not sure whether padding the rubber sides with tapes is a good idea, specially because from a long term standpoint, tapes would attract more dust & dirt and it could possibly wreak havoc with the internal circuitry of the equipment. I would recommend getting a change and while getting it replaced atleast check 2-3 more equipments to select the best one.

I had a major creaking issue with my 8800, but so far (4 days) my 8310 is totally creak-free...
