Default Display better on 7290 than 7280?

Please Login to Remove!

I am thinking about upgrading from the 7280 to the 7290. Could someone advise me if the screen display is improved in the 7290? Thanks

The resolution is the same, but the 7290 has a much better backlight. Some say that's the only difference, but I'm holding a 7280 and 7290 side-by-side right now, and with the backlights off, the 7290 looks crisper, almost like the 7280 has a screen protector on it.

Default I vote you upgrade

I recently upgraded from 7280 to 7290. The display is better (imo) than the 7280. The thumbwheel has less tread on the 7290, and until you get it broke in it takes some getting used to. A few tournaments of Bass Assassin should do the trick.
There a few other things I like about the 90 over the 80. The keypad is not as tight, the memory size is very nice, and there are two levels of backlight. These are just some of the features that make the jump to the 90 worth while. They both use the same battery, but the 7290 doesn't seem to use it up any faster than the 7280 did. Perhaps this is just my experience and your mileage may vary.
