hello all, as shown by my low number of posts, I have recently converted to the dark side and I picked up an 8330 from Verizon. Absolutely love it, and with all the rebates they were throwing at me, I was almost skeptical of picking one up. Aside from the lock-out GPS, I have absolutely no qualms so far, having come from a Samsung AH-990 (the first gen of those Verizon "flip shots") and have always been aware of Verizon's proprietary nature. Anyway, I digress.

regarding ringtones, is there a way to set my "loud" setting to ringing instantly WHILE vibrating? Also, without modifying the mp3's I have uploaded and assigned to my contacts, is there a way to increase the ringtone volume? I have had this phone for 72 hours and am still acclimating to its style of ring settings.

Anyway, this post is way too long for such a simple and minute detail. Looking forward to continuing my reading/learning on this site!

cheers.

Dark side? We are the Light!

Only vibrate-then-ring, or vibrate only, or ring only... take you choice!

Set you ringtone volume at Profiles > Advanced > select your active profile and edit the various settings.

Wirelessly posted (Dick Wiggler)

I don't understand why the speaker is hidden by a solid piece of plastic. The sound is much louder and clearer when the battery cover is off. There should be some kind of grille where the speaker is.

Mine is plenty loud enough. It'll wake me up out of a dead sleep on full volume.
