Default Battery Questions. HELP! (previous post: BB won't power on. Help!)

Please Login to Remove!

I've searched the forum and found no help. I forgot my charger at home.My battery got severely low, so I did a power down to keep the battery from going completely dead. It's been off for nearly 24 hours now. I've been charging it for 2 hours but my bb won't turn on... no flashing lights... nothing! What can I do?

I pulled the battery several times, made sure the metal connectors were clean (wiped with clean rag) and still nothing.

Just a note that I've had my BB for 6 months and I have never had a battery problem. I've never let the battery get too low.... usually as soon as the indicator light starts blinking, I would plug it in. I've also never done a complete power down before so this is why I'm concerned.

Using the original charger, I suggest leaving the device charged overnight, and see if it works. Your next option would be to borrow from a buddy (with same BB model) their battery for a couple of minutes, just to check if it's a battery problem or the device.

Also, no chance your BB might have gotten wet?

Good luck still!

Thanks. I'll leave it plugged up all night and see what happens in the morning. If same problem I guess I'll go by a dealer and see if they have a battery I can test. And no.. no chance my phone got wet.

That doesn't work either. Desktop won't even recognize that it's plugged in. I'm going by a AT&T store and see if I can try a new battery.

Default 8300 Battery???

I'm at my wits end. Every AT&T store in my area say they don't carry batteries for the Blackberry Curve. Go figure!! Now I'm trying to find someone who has a curve so I can test the battery before paying for a new one.

I thought about calling other stores besides AT&T but I read in other posts that batteries from other service providers don't always work right. Is this true? Any suggestions?

Also, I've had my bb for less than a year (refub), would the battery be covered under a warranty??

pull the battery and plug the device in. does it power on with a battery error? if so its possible that you did not charge the device long enough. a completely dead battery can take 6 hours to fully recharge. when you plug it in do you get any LED notification?

I charged it for 16 hours (overnight). I get no lights, sounds or anything. What is confusing me is that when I did a complete Power Off, the battery wasn't yet "dead"

I've seen this happen to a couple of people now. Sometimes pulling the memory card will work, but obviously it didn't for you.

Have you tried all the buttons? How about the mute button on the top?

Look at the charging port on your device, How many pins do you see? should see five tips of the pins.

The curve uses same battery as the 8700 and 7100

same battery for all carriers as well!!

the BB battery is something most ATT store keep in stock at least in the area I work

If you are talking about where the battery connects, there are 4 prongs.
If you are talking about where the wall and usb cable connects, there are 5 gold pins (very very tiny).

8700 and 7100 would work - great!!!! Now if I could just find a store that carries them.. so far no luck!!!

Are you using the USB or the wall charger? Try the OEM wall charger without the battery in and see if the screen will light up.
