ok... I made sure SP1 was installed on the desktop, which it was. Downloaded the new software from blackberry.com...

Went through the install process... now when it went to reconnect to the JVM... I get the ICON with a circle around it and a slash through it with the # 507 below it. Connection timed out crud.

Wtf? What exactly do I need to do to get this handheld working again? I have the BB7520... I never disconnected the blackberry during the install or nothing...

Dawg did you notice battery life was working better? I mean I am sending and recieving both calls and messages about every 30 sec to a minute and no drain on the BB. Granted i have the backlight turned off for all of this but it seems to be working alot better.

Yeah i dont use BBlight anymore, way too much battery life taken by that one, though bluetooth all the time, and messenger, emails, calls, DC, etc lol this is all on a reg battery, end of the day had 2 bars left.

The only things I lost were my PocketDay settings and Berry 411 settings. All my font/color settings, speedial settings, rss feeds, stock quotes, etc. ... had to re-do all of those. The new calculator works fine with the Orange theme too.

I had to reload EVERYTHING once the install was complete... Verichat, BBWeather, BerryLookup, Berry411... all gone. Kind of a pain in the butt. But I have noticed that the device seems a lot faster in just about everything I do with it. Funny thing I did notice... the bluetooth functionality has improved greatly.

I have a Logitech Mobile Freedom headset and a Plantronics M2500... The Plantronics never worked properly, people on the other end of the call would say that my voice sounded garbled... now it works properly. Strange.

Default Heres how it went for me.

I downloaded the software.
Plugged the blackberry in as stated.
It took a really long time to load.
But I was patient.
This morning it was on.
So I checked all the programs.
The messenger was there, all my contacts on it still.
Some of the 3rd party apps were gone.
Telenav, WebViewer, and EmailViewer.

Then when I went to the address book, it did not load.
It took awhile, then it switched working with the Desktop
Manager.

Now be in a hurry, I unplugged the dam thing.

Now all it is doing is the spinning hour glass.
It has come up with a real small reading that says
Java Error, below it, it says reset.
So I pushed the Track wheel and it went back to the hour glass.

I would say, you would have to restore from backup nextelnutt. Sounds like the OS didnt load fully. I upgraded maybe 5 at my work for employees there, and noone came back with any data loss, except all the 3rd party apps were gone. A simple install fixed these and you just have to redo the settings.

Default OK heres an update...

I was pissed off most of the day, Thank goodness, I can run my SIM card in a falcon phone and yes I keep Phone Numbers on the SIM for that case.

Anyway, I was trying everything.

A friend said, have you tried keeping the battery out longer than two minutes.
I said yes.

I popped the battery back in after awhile, and the same thing. The hour glass is spinning.

After awhile of doing that, the background that says Nextel comes up, but thats it.

Anyway, I thought somewhere awhile ago, I read that if you hit the shift key, caps key, delete key, and the power all at once, it will reboot.

Confirm this or deny this please.

I tried it and and after awhile, everything came back up as normal.

Cool, I am happy, but.....

My SIM card is in the other phone and now I have put the SIM card back into the blackberry and it pulls up the hour glass on a blank screen.

The arrows go a couple of times.

Now I am waiting to see if the Nextel background appears again.

I guess, when I get home from work and it is not working. I will try hitting the shift key, caps key, delete key, and the power all at once, it will reboot.

And let you guys know then.
