Sprint Curve Delayed Until June 1st
Please Login to Remove!
The Curve has been delayed until June 1st, confirmed by a retentions manager and a tier two techie. This sucks, I want a BB but don't like the keys on the 8830 and not sure I'll like the Suretype on the Pearl.
I just ain't waiting!
Why do people insist on lying to customers?

Ahh
Keep in mind reps don't always know when new devices are gonna be released
I find out about releases on BBF long before ATT formally informs me

And keep in mind that people in the stores know slightly less then the CSRs in retentions.
It will be out when it is out.
Now, when is 4.5 coming out?

Original Question: Blackberry 8330 Curve
Question: Blackberry Curve (8330) - What is the release date of this
phone. I have been promised a new phone by retentions, and was told
this the Blackberry Curve (8330) would be available April 20th. Today
I'm hearing rumors that the release date is June 1.
Which is it April 20th or June 1? I can't wait until June 1 for a new
phone; however you're current line up of phones is unacceptable.

The reason that Sprint was delayed is so they can work hard on 4.5 and getting the 9000 to me!

We'll see about that, that's the story they're giving out today. Then again a couple of Reps I spoke with today had no idea there was a titanium sCurve.

Remember, store 'reps' don't usually know much.... If you were talking to, say, your company's National Account Rep, and they told you that, then I'd be more inclined to believe it.

So what is the deal are they coming out with Black, Titanium and Red?
I have read all kinds of different reports on this.
Although the sprint website seems to show the black one

i too am waiting for the curve to be released. i have the pearl right now, i thought i would not like it very much because it doesnt have a full keyboard but this little phone rocks. it is so smart at predicting your inputs. its very accurate. when the curve comes out i am going to have it replace the pearl and move my pearl over to replace my cheap samsung flip phone that i use for business calls. i wish blackberry would release a smart phone that can handle 2 lines. That would be badass i would pay extra for it just to have the convienence of having one phone.
word on the street is that the new sprint curve will have direct connect? surely if this is true it will be a hybrid (iden direct conect, CDMA voice and data) anyone know if this is true?
having broadband like speeds, for the same price as networks with half the speed, great coverage, unlimited EVERYTHING (mobile broadband, navi, text, sprint tv, and voice) for 99 bucks a month, really good coverage.
yeah i can see how that sucks.

When I went into the store the other day and they said the curve would be out the 16th/20th (see post above) the assistant manger also said that the curve would have direct connect. It seems if I remember correctly he said they were going to activate the button on the side in a software update.
FWIW that is what I was told, but we shall see....

Sprint Corporate
I just got off the phone with Sprint Corporate Hdq. (703-433-4000) to get my issues resolved, the Curve is not being release until June 1, 2008 and that date isn't exactly set in stone either.
So I settled for the Pearl, if the Curve releases within 30 days of me receiving the phone I can exchange it for the Curve at no cost, as they're replacing my existing phone at no cost.
