Have you tried this ringtone: http://tones.jimvaughan.com/rings/Th...ing 101 96.mid? Alternatively, you can visit http://tones.jimvaughan.com with your BlackBerry, and select "Three-Second Ring 101 96" to download it.

DavidE - I forgot to thank you for posting this in another thread. The 101/96 tone, while hardly a musical delight - is the first loud ringtone I've had for my 7290.

Thanks should go to Jim Vaughan, who created the ringtones from scratch. Three seconds of alternating 101 and 96 tones at the highest volume setting is probably the maximum loudness we'll hear from this current crop of BlackBerries. Maybe the Electron will up the volume.

David thank you and Jim!! I'm Always looking for louder ringtones being in construction! Lots of noise, most of the time I keep my wireless headset on.
Thanks again,
Brian

dcfroe once you get to the site select the ringtone you want and it shoud ask you if you want to download it, once you click on download it will come into your BB and as soon as it finishes laoding it should play, when it is done roll the wheel till you highlight the save button click on it and it should save it automatically for you.

I have a similar problem when I use the HTML browser rather than the WAP browser. The HTML browser will let me play the ringtone, but not save it. The solution is to always use the WAP browser when you want to download a MIDI file.

After saving the ringtone, it should be available through the Profiles application. Click the Profiles icon, press the trackwheel again, and choose "Show Tunes." You should see the downloaded ringtone listed with the other ringtones.

I think I have a problem with the browser.

What should the browser icon look like. I just got this 7520 used adn a NEXTEL servcie man helped me update the OS last night. Afterwards he said I should have 3 new icons:
1) a big "N" for the nextel site
2) a "NOL" for nextel on line
3) and a "W" with 3 people standing behind it, he said this is a much improved brower that will offer actual colr internet viewing

I am missing the 1st and 3rd option. I can get to NOL adn Nextels site but really believe I have an issue missing a "normal" browser. What does this sound like to you?
Where can I get a "good " browser to download and use?

Thanks

sandy ,
You go Girl!!! I too use my phone"7520" as a phone and have a hard time hearing it. I had no choice to set it to vibrate+ring so I could catch MOST of my calls. Your right about the phone being hard to carry,it's also UGLY. I unknowingly bought my phone thinking it was "all that and a bag of chips" only to find out it doesn't do much more then the cheap ones. Having to pay for blackberry service is a farce!! It's not all the fault of RIM, Nextel has serious problems with service interruptions (no signal or spotty signals). Needless to say, this Christmas I'll be asking Santa for a Treo 650 and a new cell company.

Sandy, I am a new user as well but let me try to tell you what I did. (I have had the phone since Saturday. So I have a LOT to learn)
1)go to profiles
2) go to Phone only
3)Edit
4)Phone or DC or messages or whatever----then edit
5)Change tunes and tones here as well as volume.
6)Save

I do recamend going to Jim Vaughan's tones they are a great improvement.

Good luck

Dan
