No difference. The end result is the same.

Personally, I prefer full wireless enterprise activation as it's a good way to confirm proper data plan provisioning from the carrier.

Yeah, its just the way it sounds. wired : Wires / Wireless : No wires.

I agree with Penguin. If you activate by wire, you are not routing the activation through the wireless network and may find that the BlackBerry does not work after unplugging it. Best to confirm that everything works from word go and move on IMHO.

Its different.With wireless activation an activation email from the relay is sent to the users inbox which inturn is grabbed and deleted by the Besadmiin (service account).With wired you skip this process as you do not need an authentication wirelesslly as you are connecting the handheld directly to the server.

can i hook up my berry to a BES if i dont work for an enterprize that is willing. i use BIS at the moment and find that its not as good as BES, i know this because my dad has a berry through his company which is no BES.

i know i seem like a newb, so i appreciate any comments??

Welcome to the board, Camz!

I dont think so Camz, you can't connect to any BES just like that. Unless you work for a Company who has BES, provides you the phone, the plan, an IT policy, etc. Its really Company related. I find BIS cool: Im free to upload any apps I want, without an IT policy breathing on your neck. (No offense, BES admins).
