Default Making Themes

Please Login to Remove!

I would really like to get into making my own themes. I tried to install the program called plazmic, however it says that I do not have JDE 4.2.0. I have checked around but can not seem to find anything. I am just wondering if some kind soul could give me a step by step tutorial to get me on my way to making my own themes. Links to required downloads would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

FYI, Plazmic is a company not a program

I installed BlackBerry JDE 4.3.0 yesterday but Plazmic CDK 4.2.2 doesn't recognize it as being installed. Does the CDK need JDE 4.2.0 specifically?

If I remember correctly, it does. The installer should tell you exactly what it is looking for (and cannot find). In this case it should reference the JDE version it needs.

Thanks. I'm uninstalling JDE 4.3.0 & downloading 4.2 now. I see you're using an at&t 8310 & your handheld OS is 4.2.2.184. Is that an at&t OS?

No it is not. Though it works just fine on an AT&T branded phone.

See this thread to update...

I actually got tired of searching all over for the programs needed for the install of Plazmic's Developer Kit (Themebuilder)...

So I put together a quick how to on my website with WORKING links to the software needed.

Here is the link:

Thank you, but this link is dead... http://www.themes4bb.com/software/Bl...S_4.1.2.17.exe

It's this one: BlackBerry Email and MDS Services Simulator

Edit: Nevermind. I guess it is just Firefox does not want to load it. It works fine with Internet Explorer. THANKS!

After a morning of downloading and installing (and still no closer to a working program), I'm starting to wonder if this is worth it. Every prerequisite has at least one more prerequisite. Beginning to run yankhairout.exe...

I know what you mean. That it why I put together a step-by-step install guide on my website...with all the software needed. I had to reinstall my OS on my PC and had to do the reinstall of Themebuilder and I was like...wtf! It took me like 3 hours to get it all installed. I can't imagine how long it would take a novice to do it...so I put the guide together.

I remember feeling that exact same way. However, a couple posts on this thread later, I got it successfully installed.

I finally got it up, thanks to Steven's "Plazmic xxxxxx" and good old fashioned trial & error (mostly error). My main handicap to overcome was that I'm so technically disinclined, I had to hit Wikipedia to translate some of the geek-speak.
