Running Script?

So this is really annoying. Somtimes when I go to websites to read the news, catch up on gossip, etc., the screen goes white and at the bottom of the screen reads "Running Script" and it stays that way for 10-15 minutes before the page appears. And these are sites I've been able to view without incident on many previous occasions. Can anyone give me some insight on what the deal is?
